Speaking to the Universe

We are impossibly small in a universe that moves so slowly and on such a grand scale. To imagine ourselves as the center of the universe is easy, natural even, and the idea that a supermassive black hole billions of light years away might be pulling on the world, on our own bones, is nearly incomprehensible. The galaxies and stars seem like a backdrop to our lives, if that. But they are everything. We are a part of it, they a part of us. They will never hear our voice, and although the universe may speak to us, the sound is too low to hear. We speak back and forth for eternity, hearing nothing, and seeing so very little.
